The St. Francisville Transitory Theatre’s composition team has drawn from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass to come up with something new, What Alice Saw There.
The original play, never before performed in public, will take the stage at the West Feliciana High School Auditorium this week. The troupe continues its tradition, reflected in its name, of staging nearly all of it productions in a different location.
The newly renovated auditorium is the largest venue yet for the troupe. The West Feliciana School Board is partly funding the show.
As the play unfolds, Alice, a young girl in a small southern town, tries to understand the world she lives in and all its arbitrary rules.
She ventures down the rabbit hole, through the looking glass and into the pond onto a magical place where caterpillars talk and tarts are not to be shared.
The 90-minute show will offer thought-provoking surprises for adults and imaginative fun for children
